The Picture of Dorian Gray is an audio drama adaptation of Oscar Wilde's book of the same title. Since in the book and the adaptation Dorian Gray dies, within The Confessions of Dorian Gray series it is understood that Oscar Wilde based his book on Dorian's life. The audio adaptation features much of the same cast as the Confessions series including Alexander Vlahos as Dorian.

Synopsis Edit

“If only I could remain young while the picture grows old. For that I’d give anything…”

When Dorian Gray, a handsome young man about town, makes this wish, he can hardly guess that it will mark the beginning of a life of hedonism and debauchery.

Soon enough, his webs of deception and deceit catch innocent victims, some of them his closest friends, and the only evidence of his misdeeds is a long-forgotten portrait in his attic…

Oscar Wilde’s notorious novel is presented in this tense, full-cast audiobook adaptation, dramatised by David Llewellyn.

Cast Edit

Notes Edit

  • Includes a bonus disc featuring the first episode of The Confessions of Dorian Gray: This World Our Hell alongside a selection of James Dunlop’s music from the series.
  • CD pre-orders included an autograph by Alexander Vlahos

Continuity Edit

  • Within the Confessions of Dorian Gray canon this story exists in novel form as written by Oscar Wilde (This World Our Hell). Based on evidence in other stories Dorian did experience the events of the novel, at least up to the blackmailing of Alan Campbell to dispose of the body of Basil Hallward.
